No more "damn near", I am 60 now, a middle-aged, fat, bald husband and father. I am a cranky, independent, asocial, sort of libertarian geezer. I enjoy diversity, music, travel, and photography above all other endeavors.
My life has been very lucky. When I was a kid my Mom told me (in a bit of homespun, Kentucky wisdom), "You'd fall in a bucket of shit and come up with an ice-cream cone. While I have had some misery, somehow I have stepped from lily-pad to lily-pad without falling in.

I have lived or worked for extended times in India, Jamaica, France, Denmark, the UK and elsewhere. It is kind of a strange collection of places, and I feel very fortunate for having had the opportunities. Alone and with my family I have visited many more. Who knows where we'll land next. Well, probably Austin, Texas. One of our youngsters has relocated there. We really enjoy the landscape, music, food, and weirdness that are so much a part of Austin.
