April 13th - mosquito day

Another follow-your-nose adventure resulted in lots of mozzy bites as we escaped the marsh through the woods. Pictures would have been gross.

Yesterday, therefore, we walked on the beach again. There is generally a breeze keeping the mosquitoes away. There is not much to show but these one-legged, pointy-nosed birds. Usually they are a bit skittish, flying away as we approach, but yesterday they hopped along on one leg as we went by.

It is hard to tell, but it looks like wave action is now redepositing sand on the beach. I would guess 10 yards have been regained in some cases. The sand along most of the beach is now packed firm. The walking is much better. The parking lot work continues, with many dump trucks delivering "sticky" sand for the base.
